A Sojourn in East Jerusalem

On Monday, February 19, as SDPC began to convene, I was in flight returning to the United States from my sojourn to the Middle East, where a delegation and I met with families affected by acts of genocide and other forms of violence in the West Bank and Gaza. I look forward to sharing reflections on this emotional journey with each of you. For now, I am humbled by Dr. Iva E. Carruthers and SDPC’s invitation to bear witness at its evening worship session on Tuesday, where nearly 1000 participants convened. I offered my prayerful testimony and call to action on this critical global issue. I spoke on the horrors of violence, home demolition, militarized policing, and the lamenting evidence of Palestinian genocide perpetuated by Israeli occupation. CRS continues to call for love, justice and humanity for all. CRS sits firmly in a posture of peace. More details about my trip will soon be shared on our platforms with an invitation to join our Annual Membership Assembly in Jerusalem this fall. Please sign up here to learn more.”
