Maura McCauleyMaura McCauley is a social worker who has worked in the homeless service field for 10 years, with an emphasis on women and family homelessness and violence. She currently serves as a Director in Heartland Human Care Services, Inc. In this role, she oversees the organization’s supportive house programs for families and single adults and violence recovery services programming (domestic violence and sexual assault services, therapeutic childcare, and women’s rights). In addition to programming, Ms. McCauley provides policy and advocacy leadership as well as program development in the areas of supportive housing and criminal justice.Through her work, Maura has worked on collaborations with corrections providers, advocates, and survivors to develop a housing first model that provides housing assistance, intensive trauma recovery services and case management for women and their children who have been involved with the criminal justice system. She continues to work on initiatives to obtain support and funding for this model to be replicated statewide. Additionally, she has worked on the start up and operation of The Learning Center of Heartland Human Care Services, a therapeutic child care for children who have been impacted by violence in their homes or homelands. Maura received a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and a M.S.W. from the Jane Addams College of Social Work, University of Illinois at Chicago. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Lakeview YMCA, and is an avid runner in her spare time. |
