The Reporter’s work stretched far beyond its six print and online editions, which reach several thousand readers in a given month. Our six-person staff makes frequent public appearances, expanding our reach to hundreds of thousands more. Last fiscal year, our work was seen and heard:

Before audiences at several conferences, programs and other events, including:

• Testifying on our investigation of the social costs of inaction when it comes to school finance reform at a statewide task force aimed at reducing high school dropouts. The Alternative Schools Network distributed dozens of copies of our stories to supporters and lawmakers.
• The Chicago Freedom Movement at 40 convention, where copies of the Reporter were distributed to more than 200 participants
• Providing training in investigative and computer-assisted reporting to members of the Society of Professional Journalists at their national conference
