Last week the new Trump administration took executive action to expand the U.S.-Mexico border wall, increase the powers of immigration law enforcement and cut federal funding for sanctuary cities. Just two days later, the administration announced further action to halt the acceptance of refugees and discriminate against Muslim refugees seeking asylum.

How long will the killing of African Americans by police officers continue? The killings of Alton Sterling from Louisiana and Philando Castile from Minnesota cause us once again to pause, grieve, swear, and scream. The seemingly endless, brutal attacks on black bodies is not acceptable.
We are deeply disturbed by comments from presidential candidates who call for a ban on Muslims entering the US, and religious leaders who encourage people to arm themselves against Muslims. CRS members stand united against such prejudice and hate.
