Rev. Dr. Rita M. Root

Rev. Dr. Rita M. Root currently serves as the Interim Association Co-Minister for the Chicago Metropolitan Association of the Illinois Conference of the United Church of Christ. She was ordained in The United Methodist Church in 1992 and served churches in Chicago and Peotone as well as the Wesley Foundation at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL. In 2001, she transferred her ministerial credentials to the United Church of Christ as she served the Federated Church of Sycamore as their Senior Pastor. Dr. Root has also served on the Board of the Chicago Religious Leadership Network on Central America, the Chicago Interfaith Council on the Homeless, the DeKalb Country Youth Service Bureau and is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of the Chicago Theological Seminary.
