Members of the Judiciary II Committee as well as the Youth and Family and Juvenile Justice Committees will be present. A wide range of witnesses will give powerful testimony regarding:
• Protocols to protect children during arrest and trial
• Consideration of needs of children during parent’s sentencing, incarceration and release
• Halting the termination of parental rights for the incarcerated
• Improvement of services available for families during incarceration, including improved contact between parents and children
• Support for relative caregivers of children
