Membership

As a Member Congregation, you join a growing network that works to remove race and poverty as barriers to opportunity for all Illinois residents, by building awareness and shaping public policies, practices and programs.

You will help build and maintain a strong network by:

Building a core group of regular participants

Becoming knowledgeable on priority issues

Participating in priority campaigns

Establishing relationships with area elected officials, decision-makers and media

Becoming a member of Community Renewal Society ($50.00 annual fee).

Community Renewal encourages congregations to consider ways they can raise additional funds to support our work together and is willing to assist in this regard.

Participating in the Annual Meeting and inviting other congregations to join

Community Renewal Society staff will assist participating members in your congregation by:

Providing timely and helpful background information, materials, learning opportunities and guidance on the issues and topics being addressed

Providing tools, training and mentoring on effective organizing and advocacy techniques, and working with elected officials and local media

Creating and coordinating opportunities to participate in organization-wide campaigns

Connecting your congregation with other congregations and faith leaders

Being available to personally respond to questions and requests
