Booking a Speaker

< Back to Speakers Bureau

Community Renewal asks that you make your request at least three weeks before the desired speaking date, but no more than three months ahead of time.

To request a speaker, please email Community Renewal's communications staff. In your email, include information about:

The Meeting or Event
When you make your request, Community Renewal will need specific information about your organization and the event you would like a speaker for.

Please include information about the type of group (service organization, business, etc.) and the estimated number of people expected to attend the event. Community Renewal asks that your audience have a minimum of 30 people.

The Topic
Indicate what subject (the more specific, the better) you would like the speaker to talk about and how long you would like him or her to talk.

Requests for Specific Staff
All requests for specific staff are subject to the individual's personal and professional preferences and schedules. If the person is not available, we will try to provide a speaker who can meet your needs.

Honoraria
Community Renewal staff members are widely respected experts in their fields. As such, we ask that organizations wishing to book staff as speakers pay an honorarium.

For our Executive Director, Rev. Calvin S. Morris, PhD, we generally request a minimum payment of $1000. For the rest of our staff, including writers for Catalyst Chicago and The Chicago Reporter, we usually request a minimum payment of $500. If your organization is not able to pay a cash honorarium, please go ahead and submit your request. All offers will be considered.
