Veronica joined Catalyst as managing editor in 1996. Prior to that, she was an associate editor at Crain's Chicago Business, writing stories about local companies that scooped the daily newspapers. She also served as a research assistant for The Chicago Reporter. She received a master's degree from the Medill School of Journalism, Northwestern University, and a bachelor's degree in economics from Northwestern. In 2006, she won a Peter Lisagor Award, for editorial writing.
