Our work to stop illegal guns from entering our communities continues in a new effort, SB 337 SA 3, the Combating Illegal Gun Trafficking Act.

The mark of a criminal record is so stigmatizing that the majority of employers will not consider hiring an individual with a record. Last year, in partnership with the Restoring Rights and Opportunities Coalition of Illinois (RROCI), we helped to lead change in this area by passing state legislation to significantly increase the number of felony records that can be sealed.

After years of trying to license gun dealers in Illinois, the House finally passed SB 1657.

On Tuesday, March 13, 2018, CRS stood with community leaders from the Grassroots Alliance for Police Accountability (GAPA), Aldermen from across the city, and other public safety stakeholders, to announce our comprehensive ordinance for The Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability.
