Demand that our elected officials fight for good jobs and housing for Westside residents. The Westside Community Benefits Coalition is calling for a Community Benefits Agreement with the developers of the Gateway Development Project and Cook County Hospital Redevelopment in the Illinois Medical District.

GREAT NEWS: HB 494, a bill removing life-time bars on employment in schools for men and women with criminal records, has passed out of the Illinois Senate today!! The legislation now heads to the Governor's desk.

 

Governor Rauner laid out his budget plan for the State of Illinois this past February with the claim that it will save the state millions of dollars. But the outcome will be different.

CHICAGO, Illinois (April 20, 2015) – Community Renewal Society’s (CRS) Director of Policy Laura Dean Friedrich has announced her retirement effective June 30, 2015. Ms. Friedrich was the first director of CRS’ Policy program established in 2012.

“I will always be grateful for having the opportunity to be a part of CRS and engage directly and deeply with our compelling mission, great staff and board, dynamic community leaders and worthy work,” said Ms. Friedrich.
