To the Illinois congressional delegation:

Coalition urges City to commit to police contract reforms after Mayor Emanuel proposes “independent monitor”

Recently, you received a note from Rev. Curtiss DeYoung announcing his resignation as Executive Director. We are grateful for his three years of service and we wish him well as he returns to Minnesota.

Rev. Robbie Craig, formerly President of the Board of Community Renewal Society, has stepped down from the Board and been named Interim Executive Director, helping to steer us through this time of transition as we develop a Search Committee to select the new Executive Director. I will serve as President of the Board.

The Capitol was awash in orange t-shirts on Tuesday, May 9, as Community Renewal Society spoke truth to power through legislative meetings and public celebration during our annual Day of Faith. Help us keep the momentum going strong by taking action on key issues and investing in the ongoing work of justice today!

Rev. Curtiss DeYoung

Today I have resigned as the Executive Director at Community Renewal Society. My time will end in early summer. I have accepted a position as the CEO of the Minnesota Council of Churches in Minneapolis, MN.

Community Renewal Society partnered with The Chicago Community Trust to host a gathering of community leaders and clergy from various denominations to discuss dismantling racism.

We ask that you make at least three posts to any platform of your choosing throughout the Day of Faith at the Capitol on May 9, 2017. Social media allows a greater audience to participate in our work.

#ReEntryWeek

Community Renewal Society is participating in National Reentry Week, April 24-28, 2017.
