The Chicago Reporter has won the national 2011 Sigma Delta Chi Awards for excellence in journalism for its coverage of the Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) “one-strike” eviction policy in the September/October 2011 issue.
The Society of Professional Journalists, a national organization for journalists, gave the public service in magazine journalism prize to the Reporter for Angela Caputo’s investigation “Out at first.”
Awards in dozens of categories were chosen from 1,700 entries from around the United States. The national award is among the highest awards in journalism.
