Most of the world’s people – most
of us – are caught up in frittering their/our lives away. Even when
we make changes in our lives, those changes so often turn out to be
just tinkering changes that lead us back to frittering our lives away
in some different manner.

Most people think of "meek" as synonymous with "weak" or "faint-hearted." It is not regarded as a praiseworthy quality. But in the biblical Greek, the term connoted "humility," the opposite of "arrogant" or "abusive anger." In a broader sense, it is used to describe the openness to self-reflection and awareness of ourselves as creatures with limited power.
