Beloved Community Conference - Radical Reconciliation, St. Louis

Short Description: 

Executive Director Curtiss DeYoung will attend this conference at Saint John's Church.  Rev. DeYoung co-wrote "Radical Reconciliation" with Dr. Allan Boesak, a book that offers a vision of reconciliation and social justice grounded in the biblical story and their own experience of activism. This book will be a major component of the framework that is used in the conference.

Catalyst Critical Conversation: Attracting and Keeping Good Teachers

Short Description: 

The most important in-school factor in a student’s success is a strong teacher. That’s a bit of common sense that has solid research to back it up. By extension, schools and their students would benefit greatly from putting a premium on attracting and keeping strong teachers.  So how do they do that?  That question will be the focus of “Attracting and Keeping Good Teachers,” the third and final Critical Conversation forum in Catalyst’s 25th anniversary year.

The Reclaim Campaign is conducting an 8-week Court Watching Project from July 1 to August 25, 2015 and we need YOU to volunteer!

You can help us make sure our victories are having an impact by volunteering with the Reclaim Campaign’s Court Watching Project this summer!

The Reclaim Campaign will conduct an 8-week Court Watching Project from July 1 to August 25, 2015 to verify that reforms to bond court and pretrial services we won are being implemented. A few volunteers are needed every day to attend Cook County Central Bond Court at 2600 S. California from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. to record the number of people being held on bond for non-violent offenses.
