Announcing CRS' Interim Executive Director

Recently, you received a note from Rev. Curtiss DeYoung announcing his resignation as Executive Director. We are grateful for his three years of service and we wish him well as he returns to Minnesota.

Rev. Robbie Craig, formerly President of the Board of Community Renewal Society, has stepped down from the Board and been named Interim Executive Director, helping to steer us through this time of transition as we develop a Search Committee to select the new Executive Director. I will serve as President of the Board.

Rev. Craig has also served as Vice President of CRS’ Board, co-chaired the Policy and Organizing Committee and been a member of the Budget & Finance Committee. Well-known by our member congregations and leaders, she helped lead the Reclaim Campaign and recently co-chaired our Martin Luther King Faith in Action Assembly. She serves as a minister at New Faith Baptist Church International in Matteson, IL, co-chairing the Justice Ministry and chairing the Kingdom Financial Stewardship Ministry. She is Chair Emeritus of the Victorious Christian Living Institute.

She’s also a civic leader and has had an impressive business career. She was a candidate for Matteson Village President (mayor) in the last election and has held a number of civic posts. Rev. Craig is a retired Citibank Branch Manager, with a career that spanned 40 years in the financial services industry.

We are grateful for your support and partnership. Our work on police accountability, addressing issues of violence and restoring opportunities for people with records will continue under the Board’s leadership, along with that of Deputy Director Delia Ramirez and the Organizing and Policy teams.

As we move forward with hope and expectation for what’s next, we appreciate your prayers and positive thoughts. Should you have any questions or concerns, please address them to
