The Chicago Reporter launches photography summer internship program

The Reporter has selected Lucio Villa and William Camargo for its first photography summer internship program. Later this summer, the Reporter will select two more students or recent graduates for a photojournalism fellowship to produce work both in print and on during the duration of the academic year.

Villa lives in California and is a recent graduate of California State University, Fullerton. Villa freelances for La Opinión, the largest Spanish-language daily newspaper in the U.S. and was the photo editor at his college newspaper, the Daily Titan. Villa is interested in economic issues and has spent time documenting the Occupy LA movement.

Camargo also lives in California and working on his BFA in Creative Photography at California State University, Fullerton. Camargo has freelanced for Zuma Press and The Garden Grove Journal. He is Photo editor of his student publication, Tusk Magazine (CSUF).
