It’s with bittersweet emotions, that I announce that Susan Richardson is leaving The Chicago Reporter after more than four years as editor and publisher. Under her leadership, the Reporter has hit many high marks – from national awards for its investigative journalism to praise for its police settlement database to unprecedented fundraising success. Her contributions to the Reporter and Community Renewal Society will be greatly missed, but we are happy for Susan as she starts her next chapter.
Community Renewal Society stands firm in our commitment to the Reporter, in reflection of the support for the publication that our Board of Directors has very clearly voiced. The Reporter has the managerial support it needs during this time of transition in the capable hands of Executive Editor Lorraine Forte. We have already assembled a search team for the publication’s next leader, as we ensure that the Reporter’s stellar and important work will continue.
Community Renewal Society is grateful for the support you have given the Reporter over the years and I ask that you continue that support in this time of transition.
