Community Renewal Society celebrates the life of the Rev. Willie Barrow, one of our country’s great Civil Rights leaders. We are grateful for her tireless efforts to achieve justice for all of God’s children. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her many friends and all those whose lives she touched, in particular her church family at Vernon Park Church of God and our own former Executive Director, Rev. Calvin S. Morris, Ph.D.—the two of them worked together closely at Operation BreadBasket and in subsequent years, and claimed each other as chosen family.
May her courage and love of justice inspire us as we work on to realize the Beloved Community.
