Lejia “Jia” Johnson
Lejia “Jia” Johnson is a Project Manager with Sunshine Enterprises, where she manages the partnership with Pathway to Enterprise for Returning Citizens (PERC) pilot program. She is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Public Ministry with a focus on racial justice and re-entry at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston and received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from New Mexico State University. While there, she served as House Lead at Stepping Stones Residential Treatment Facility, where she collaborated with clients and their families on creating treatment plans, connected them to resources, created an environment which fostered healing from trauma, and planned, organized and raised funds for a community event to generate awareness. Ms. Johnson’s natural gift and skill for fundraising and equitable partnerships, eventually, led her to be recruited for corporate sales. She has had a successful career in corporate consulting with Staples Business Advantage. As a Business Development Executive, she assisted large businesses in streamlining their procurement process, spearheaded a pilot program for a new product line that launched nationally, and consistently generated new business growth across multiple sales markets. Ms. Johnson currently serves on the Board of “Off the Pews,” where she’s focusing on building community partnerships to develop youth as entrepreneurs. She has earned certificates in community organizing and race and justice at Garrett-Evangelical, as well as a Certificate in Bible and Theological Studies from Talbot School of Theology. In 2018, she was named one of the “New Faces of Ministry” by The Center for Faith and Service, based out of McCormick Theological Seminary.
