Joice Pharris, Senior Manager in the Chicago Modeling and Valuation Services practice of Deloitte Advisory, is a citizen of the world. Born and raised in Venezuela, she experienced first-hand the impacts of poverty, inequality and oppression.

She began her professional career as a Chemical Engineer in the oil and gas industry back home. Later, she relocated to Chicago and obtained an MBA in Finance at DePaul University and now has over a decade of experience in consulting at Deloitte, where she helps clients mitigate financial risk.

She’s a parishioner at Old St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where she serves as a member of the Parish Council and a liturgical minister.

Joice has been a supporter of CRS for 8 years and recently lobbied legislators in Springfield during the 2018 CRS Day of Faith at the Capitol.

She has volunteered for the Coalition to Save our Mental Health Centers, canvassing for a referendum to expand mental health services in her community.

Her role model on social justice is her father, a retired union leader. She’s a wife, a dog owner, and a resident of the Logan Square neighborhood in Chicago.
