The Illinois Medical District Commission (IMDC) plans to approve the ground lease for the new $300 million Gateway Development Project at their Board meeting on Tuesday, November 18. Stand with the West Side Community Benefits Coalition to demand the developers sign a Community Benefits Agreement with our community organizations to guarantee the West Side community benefits from the 1,000 permanent jobs and 200+ housing units the development will create.
In collaboration with the Grassroots’ Collaborative Week of Action, the Reclaim Campaign will host a Day of Action on November 10, 2014. We will gather at 3:30 p.m. at the Daley Plaza and call upon stakeholders in the Cook County criminal justice system to enact reforms that reduce the jail population and to invest county resources into community-based restorative justice programs.

Illinois Representatives Cassidy and Ford of the House Restorative Justice Committee will convene a subject matter hearing on December 9, 2014 to build greater legislative awareness of the barriers to employment - including lifetime bars - that men and women with records experience in the school, park district, and metro transit codes and the Health Care Worker Background Check Act.
