CRS Condemns Recent Violence in Palestine

The recent violence in the Jenin refugee camp in the northern occupied West Bank has resulted in the deaths of at least nine Palestinians and numerous injuries. Israeli forces launched air and ground operations, including missiles and airstrikes, causing significant damage to homes and infrastructure in the camp.

The situation in Jenin has prompted global concern, with the United Nations human rights chief criticizing Israel's use of heavy weaponry, including drones and helicopter gunships, in the West Bank. The ongoing violence has resulted in a significant loss of life on both sides since the start of the year, with Palestinians bearing the brunt of the casualties.

At Community Renewal Society, we condemn the recent rise in violence along the West Bank and urge the United Nations to take action to protect the people of Palestine. To achieve Beloved Community, where all God’s children flourish and live in dignity, the violence against civilians must end in order to preserve the dignity and livelihood for those in Palestine.
