Naked Before the Lord: A Song for My People

God, you are the light of my life and the lover of my soul.  You are the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.  You know all, see all, and care for all.

God, I lay before you today crying out.  I hurt.  It feels like every day, it is another thing.  I’m searching for a moment of reprieve, but I cannot seem to catch a break.

Lord, I need you now.  Not a second or another minute; not an hour or another day, but Lord I need you right away.

I long for the moments of laughter and joy.  I am crying out for peace.  I am unsafe.  I am attacked.  I am seen as a threat.

But you kept me from dangers seen and unseen.  I’m standing here today a kept woman.  I’m standing here today kept by the Lord.

God, you made us in your image, to live in community with one another, to love one another, to care for one another, but the stress and strife is overwhelming my spirit and vexing my soul.

God wants to heal the hole in your soul. Lord, deliver me!

Move GOD!  Move in your land!  Move in the hearts of your people!  I do not know how much more I can endure.

Who can stand against the Lord? No one can and no one will.  Victory belongs to Jesus!

It is in this moment that I stand naked before you, crying out in pain, acknowledging my hurt, seeking my exodus, and making my decree.

The Lord is my light and my salvation.  Whom shall I fear?  Whom shall I be afraid?  I will wait on you.  I will trust in you.

God, I know that you can do all things, and you will work it out.  I leave my cares and concerns at your feet and stand firm on your promises.

In Jesus’ name.  Amen

I am my brother’s keeper.  Your concerns are my concerns.  In moments like this, we must find the outlet that helps us heal.  For me, it lies in the music.

If you've got a problem that's too hard for you to solve and a burden that's too hard for you to bear, the answer my friend is not in your plan, but it's when you place it in the Master's hand.  There is nothing too hard for my God.
