CCPSA Meeting

  • Southshore International College Prep 1955 East 75th Street Chicago, IL, 60649 (map)

Join CRS at the Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability (CCPSA)’s monthly public meeting.

Those unable to attend the meeting in-person can join virtually via Zoom.

Agenda items include:

  • Traffic Stops Policy Update

  • COPA Search Update

At this meeting, Commissioners will share updates on the Commission’s ongoing work and begin public discussions on key parts of the Chicago Police Department’s (CPD) proposed traffic stops policy. This month’s conversation will focus specifically on the standard officers must meet before conducting a consent search during a traffic stop.

While the Commission has not yet reached consensus on this issue, there is agreement that the current CPD proposal should be strengthened. Commissioners will use this meeting to work toward common ground and continue developing thoughtful, community-informed policy recommendations.

Please take a moment to share your input using the Traffic Stops Feedback Form.

The Commission allows for public comments at their monthly meetings. Each person will have up to two minutes to speak. A total of twenty minutes will be dedicated to public comment at each meeting. If you wish to speak during the virtual public comment period, kindly request to do so by reaching out to Community Commission staff by emailing CommunityCommissionPublicComment@cityofchicago.org. Those wishing to speaking during the meeting must provide their name in writing to the Commission staff between 6:00 PM and 6:30 PM. If the number of interested speakers exceeds the time dedicated to public comment, speakers will be selected by a random drawing.

Written public comments may be submitted at the meeting or by emailing CommunityCommissionPublicComment@cityofchicago.org in advance.

Visit the Chicago CCPSA YouTube page for recordings of previous monthly meetings.
