Retired Police Officer

Juanita Bradley is a retired Chicago Police Officer who spent 37 ½ years in the service.  She worked in the Patrol Division for most of her career earning many awards while deepening relationships in community with business owners, fellow officers and those she served.  After retiring, she went to work for the University of Illinois at Chicago’s Police Department as a Resource and Policy Analyst where she ensured department resources were carefully utilized according to state guidelines and policies.  

Juanita is a founding member of God Can Ministries United Church of Christ in Ford Heights, IL. She is a member of the Committee on Ministry of the Chicago Metropolitan Association where she is Chair of the Church Standing Team. She is also president of Off the Pews: Faith in Action, a non-profit faith-based organization birthed out of a community call to action focused on reducing youth violence.  

Juanita was born and raised in Forrest City, AR but relocated to Chicago in the 1960s. In addition to her service with Chicago Police Department, she was inducted into the United States Army Reserves and is a member of the Central South Shore Area Council, an organization aimed at strengthening neighborhoods and community building. 

Juanita has served on Chicago Metropolitan Association Council, received the Honored Lay Woman’s Award at the United Church of Christ’s 50th General Synod and Chairperson of the Illinois Conference Mission Support Committee among a host of other awards, recognition and achievements.
