University Church is highly invested in protecting individuals in danger of deportation, offering temporary housing and support to asylum seekers with CRS partners, like the Sanctuary Working Group.

A gifted artist, advocate, and truth-teller (also known as J.Kwest), Rev. DeShazier brings a prophetic voice that invites us to expand our imagination for justice, community, and liberation. His message will ground this year’s theme, offering a powerful reminder that love is a feeling, work, a movement, and a call to act.
