Those unable to attend the meeting in-person can join virtually via Zoom.
This month, the Commission will bring together a panel of experts to examine how Chicago supports survivors of violent crime and where improvements are needed.
The discussion will focus on the current landscape of victim services across the city, including existing programs and resources, where gaps or barriers persist, and how government agencies and community organizations can better work together to support those impacted by violence.
Panelists include:

Amanda L. Vasquez, Research Manager at the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority
Stephaney Harris, Senior Project Manager and Victim Services Lead, Mayor’s Office of Community Safety
Dr. Blaire Lewis,Advocate Health Care Trauma Recovery Center
Attendees will hear directly from practitioners, advocates, and leaders in the field, and gain a clearer understanding of how Chicago can strengthen a more coordinated, victim-centered approach to public safety.
The Commission allows for public comments at their monthly meetings. Each person will have up to two minutes to speak. A total of twenty minutes will be dedicated to public comment at each meeting. If you wish to speak during the virtual public comment period, kindly request to do so by reaching out to Community Commission staff by emailing CommunityCommissionPublicComment@cityofchicago.org. Those wishing to speaking during the meeting must provide their name in writing to the Commission staff between 6:00 PM and 6:30 PM.
